26' Morris Yachts Frances 26

Wildwood is an iconic Chuck Paine designed Morris Frances 26. Repurchased and completely refit to new standards in 2001 by Morris Yachts founder Tom Morris for his personal yacht. Tom gave her many personal touches, including a new Nanni diesel and unique Harken mainsheet arrangement. From her bronze hawes pipes fore and aft to her Hinckley style flush mounted portlights, she is as delightful to look at as she is to sail. Wildwood was a cover girl for Morris Yachts in promotional materials. She also appears on pg 97 of Ferenc Mates Best Boats.
I bought her in 2012 and had her (including spars) awlgripped in Kingston Gray and White. I also had a Morris bow pulpit, SS lifelines, dodger w/ SS handrails, full winter cover and many other upgrades at that time. She has only been in fresh water (Lake Champlain and Lake Ontario)since I bought her.
Wildwoods 50% ballast ratio makes her incredibly stiff and she is also surprisingly quick. Misc. age related medical stuff have prompted me to part with a boat that has been the very definition of Pride and Joy. Her next caretaker will know exactly what I mean. You cannot walk away from her without turning around for just one more look.
Wildwood has been lovingly cared for, and it shows.
