Catafjord is a 63 feet catamaran built in strip-planking reinforced with plywood, fiberglass and epoxy, by the Nordest shipyard in Quebec. The plans were designed by the renowned Australian architect Loch Crowther. Catafjord was released in 1996 and has already been around the world twice with its various owners. Very widely maintained and improved by them (the last complete refit has been made in 2017), she is fast, spacious, easy to maintain and handle in reduced crew due to its split rigging (ketch). Her stability at sea is out of the ordinary and makes her a very safe unit for large cruises including with children. The space on board and the materials used for its layout make her a unit easily adaptable to the tastes and needs of its owners. Catafjord has large living areas (indoor and outdoor saloon, kitchen) and she is perfectly equipped for the big trip both in terms of safety (EPIRB, VHF ASN, Survival 12 places ...) and for autonomy (2 watermakers, generator, solar panels ...). The important and expensive elements have been changed recently: sails in 2017, trampolines in 2017, engines in 2017 (500h today), chain of 13mm in 2017, windlass in 2018.
