38 CATALINA YACHTS SAILBOAT 1979

The Catalina 38 is a Sparkman & Stephens design cruiser / racer.
It is a masthead sloop rig with aluminum spars, a raked stem and reverse transom, the Catalina 38 has an internally mounted spade rudder. The cockpit is roomy featuring a removable wheel helm, foldout dining table and a dodger that provides shelter underway.

Below decks the spacious salon presents a navigation station to starboard just forward of the quarter berth. A portside galley is aft of the U-shaped dinette and table accompanied by a bench settee to starboard. Forward of the salon is the portside head with shower across from starboard lockers and drawers. A comfortable V berth in the bow presents lockers, drawers and shelf storage to port and to starboard.

This a 1979 classic S&S design, hull #19. Offering sailing performance, nimble handling and comfortable cruising accommodations.

MECHANICAL:
Yanmar 3GM30 is a 3-cylinder, 4-stroke, 27 horsepower marine diesel engine. It has a Fresh Water Heat Exchanger Cooling System with new impeller.
Starts right up.
1,675 hours on the meter,
3-blade propeller, 7 knot cruising speed, 7.4 knot maximum speed,
Edson wheel steering system with a stainless steel wheel.
30 LBS. Danforth bow anchor, 30ft chain, 150 ft rode.

ELECTRICAL:
All interior lighting and navigation lights have been converted to LED lights.

INTERIOR LAYOUT:
Accommodations for 7. The forward stateroom has a double V-berth with filler, dressing seat, hanging locker, shelves, drawers, and storage lockers. A double aft quarter-berth to starboard. A single settee-berth to starboard in the main salon. The large U-shaped dinette to port in the main salon converts to a double berth.

The dinette has a cocktail table and a custom teak dinning table. Abundant storage throughout the vessel. Sit-down navigator's station.
The large U-shaped galley includes: New deep double stainless steel sinks
Gimbaled 3-burner stainless steel propane stove with oven (This is not attached to gas).

Large Head with shower, sink and new pump toilet with holding tank.
