Description: |
The legendary Bill Shaw designed this classic cruising boat to be a balance between performance and shallow draft. So sought after was she that she had the longest production run of any Pearson model running from 1968 to 1982. The Pearson 35 is a cut away full keel with centerboard making her equally at home pointing upwind and getting into places most sailboats cannot go with a max draft of 7.5 (board down) and minimum draft of 3.75 (board up). This particular version of the 35 was built in 1978. Her original wood grained Formica interior was replaced with American Cherry in a Herreshoff style earning her the name around the marina as a Pearson-Hinckley. In 2012, her Westerbeke diesel and all associated systems (fuel tank, fuel lines, etc.) were replaced with a Beta Marine 30hp engine (515 hours). She has undergone routine maintenance and upgrades throughout the years. You would be hard pressed to find a sailing yacht of this caliber and condition at this price point. If you are looking to go cruising or day sailing without the hassle of a refit, this boat may be for you. Cockpit/Deck The P-35 features a large cockpit with the wheel mounted well forward allowing the captain and crew to remain under the dodger during inclement weather. There are two large cockpit lockers on port and starboard along with a lazarette where the propane locker resides. A wheel mounted varnished teak cockpit table allows for sundowners and/or dinner in the cockpit. A well-kept dodger provides protection against wind, sun and rain. An awning which connects to the aft end of the dodger provides additional protection while at anchor or at the dock. A stainless and teak transom ladder and a custom stainless side mounted boarding ladder make getting on and off the boat a breeze. Interior Knot Right has an open interior with a spacious galley running from port to starboard at the aft end of the main salon. Just forward of the galley are two settees with ultra suede covered cushions. Ample storage is provided behind and under the settees. There are additional storage lo |
