Built by Henry R. Hinckley & Co. in Southwest Harbor ME in 1953, Beanie is a 36' Hinckley Standard (similar to the 35' pilot, but with taller cabin head height).
Beanie was completely repowered in 2022 with a brand new 2021 Volvo Penta. She underwent a full survey in late 2021 (available upon request), and has been looked after on The North Fork by Wooden Boatworks.
She has undergone significant refit projects over the last several years, including:
Replaced all of the white oak frames and most of the mahogany planking below the water line.
Construction and install of a new rudder.
Installed all new butt-blocks.
New dead wood in the keel.
New floors.
Stainless steal backing plates for the keel bolts - Keel bolts where replaced in 2004 by previous owner.
Teak decks (in good shape) over Marine plywood- replaced in 2004 by previous owner.
Re-wired the entire boat with new marine grade wiring. Work completed by a very good marine electrician -a nice clean system.
Reconfigured/ designed the interior to accommodate a new navigation station- chart plotter B&G Vulcan, New Icom VHF.
New stereo and speakers.
Installed new plumbing - new head, new bag style holding tank, grey water holding tank, shower pan.
All new upholstery. Painted mast and cabin top.
Re-built and insulated the Ice box.
Built new hatches - forward, companion way and aft. Also a new companion way door with screen insert.
Refurbished the vintage data marine instruments.
Vintage hardware and details throughout.
Main, jib and genoa in good shape.
Issues: Small dent in mast, missing batten from main sail. |
